Fryar's Original Sauce named Best Condiment
August 21, 2009--During the 2009 Fall meeting of the NC Specialty Foods Association, Elaine and Gerald Fryar, Waseda Farms, McLeansville, North Carolina, won the association's Best Condiment award for Fryar's Original Sauce.   A traditional Central North Carolina barbecue sauce, Fryar's Original Sauce is  a Carolina Flavors Online staff favorite.

Carolina Flavors Online founder joins YMA board
Debbie Hamrick, Carolina Flavors Online founder, was elected to the Yates Mill Associates (YMA)  Board at the association's 2009 spring membership meeting. The non-profit group is devoted to restoring, preserving and operating Yates Mill on Lake Wheeler Road in Raleigh. YMA conducts fund raising efforts throughout the year and supports the mill's operation through YMA memberships and sales of Yates Mill Corn Meal and other products depicting the mill.

Carolina Flavors Online showcases artisinal foods
at Southern Women's Show in Raleigh April 24-26 2009

The Carolina Flavors Online web store features artisanal food products from North Carolina.  Carolina Flavors Online brings the living, breathing charm of the vibrant North Carolina specialty food and artisanal food communities to customers by connecting them to the things made here with extensive articles and information about the product makers and the ingredients they use. Show attendees will be able to sample and purchase from the Carolina Flavors Online store. Among the food makers to be featured are:

Baker's Southern Traditions featured on WUNC's North Carolina Now

December 2008--North Carolina Now, WUNC's weeknight news magazine, profiled Baker's Southern Traditions, Roxobel. The video segment showed proprietor Danielle Baker and her kitchen team as they created tasty peanut concoctions. The interviewer became capitvated with Baker's Blister Fried Peanuts, extra super sized peanuts deep fried in peanut oil, one of Danielle's signature products. Yates Mill updates website, links to Carolina Flavors Online

October 2008--Yates Mill Associates, the non-profit organization that supports the historic Yates Mill, a working gristmill in Raleigh, North Carolina, has updated their website.

The new site links to Carolina Flavors Online as the online source for purchasing Yates Mill Corn Meal on the web. The new Yates Mill Associates website features comprehensive listings of events at the Mill, as well as a detailed history of the mill, directions and other Yates Mill items for sale such as t-shirts, coffee mugs, etc.

     June 2008--Carolina Flavors Online debuts June 5 to 8, 2008 at the Got to Be NC Food Expo during the Got to Be NC Festival at the Raleigh Fairgrounds.
